David & Andrea Miliotis:

David & Andrea have been traveling regularly to the Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India since 1999 to study Ashtanga Yoga with their guru, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and his grandson, R. Sharath, who have authorized them to teach this method of yoga in 2000. While in India, they also study Sanskrit and chanting with various pandits, in particular Dr. M.A. Jayashree and Lakshmish Bhat. From 2002 to 2007, they directed and taught the Mysore program at the Santa Barbara Yoga Center. They now live in Bend, Oregon where they own and direct Ashtanga Yoga Bend.

David recieved Level II Authorization from KPJAYI in 2009. Initially, his practice and study of yoga began in 1989 at the White Lotus Foundation, Santa Barbara, CA where he was first introduced to Ashtanga Yoga by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. In 1995, the teachings of Richard Freeman inspired a dedication to Ashtanga Yoga, which led David back to his guru, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. In addition to directing a daily Mysore program, he is the founder and executive director of the Tapas Yoga Project, a program that brings Ashtanga Yoga to various ‘at risk’ populations.
